earthspa includes sea salt scrubs, massage and seaweed body wraps in our spa treatments at our urban day spa in Victoria.  The treatments are beneficial for detoxing, cellulite, relaxation, weight loss and increasing metabolism and circulation.  Spa treatments have become increasingly popular and you can understand why when you read about seaweed and all the health benefits it offers you.

Seaweeds actually provide more than half of the earth’s oxygen and are one of the primary life sources.  Seaweed absorbs vitamins and minerals – cooper, iron, potassium, zinc and iodine – from the sea through osmosis.  As our own body plasma is similar to sea water it is no wonder that seaweed can do so much for our bodies.  As we are made of mostly water, seaweed is a welcomed product for our skin.

Algologie is the company that provides our seaweed.  The company uses seaweed algae from the Brittany Coast in France and they are able to maintain the natural elements of the seaweed – it is these elements that perform wonders for your body during a Seaweed Body Wrap.

The Wrap works by the body absorbing the vitamins and mineral from the seaweed.  This helps the breakdown of fatty deposits and makes the skin look and feel supple and smooth.  It is advisable to drink lots of water over the 24 hours after a wrap as this is a potent treatment and your body will need assistance with the detoxifying process and to restore balance to your system.

Aromatic Sea Salt Exfoliation Body Scrub

earthspa blends together a natural sea salt with our own en-r-gy aromatherapy oil to create a delicious scrub to remove dead skin cells from your body and leave your skin feeling great.  During the treatment your therapist will especially concentrate on those stubborn areas (elbows, knees, buttocks, upper back) that need additional exfoliation.  Your treatment completes with a shower and body moisturising with Dermalogica’s Ultra Rich Body Cream.

When you are in need of a really good body scrub this is the treatment for you.  So rather than you giving yourself a quick scrub in the shower, your therapist will give your skin a thorough exfoliation for 15 mins, or so, whilst you lie back and relax.  You will find this an excellent treatment both pre and post holiday to prepare your skin for the sun and to exfoliate the remains of the sun tan upon your return.  Really, anytime your skin is feeling or looking dehydrated, dry or flaky then this treatment is the remedy.

This treatment is popular with pre/post holiday makers.  It is also a great little treatment to combine with something else eg scrub/facial, scrub/pedicure and scrub/massage to make your spa experience complete.

Aromatic Sea Salt Exfoliation Body Scrub and Massage

This treatment is exactly as described in the Aromatic Sea Salt Exfoliation Scrub but takes the relaxation a stage further as it follows with a wonderful massage.

earthspa has always encouraged client feedback and we then like to make the changes that you are suggesting if they are to the benefit of everyone – so when you requested for more massage time to be added to this treatment we couldn’t deny that everyone would benefit from more massage.  So just so you know what your options are – the 40 mins version of this treatment includes a relaxing back massage ONLY and the 70 mins version includes a full body massage.  It’s your choice!  Everyone will also enjoy and benefit from the amazing revitalising, yet calming effect of our own our aromatherapy en-r-gy oil (a firm favourite).

Both salt scrub exfoliation and aromatherapy massage are universally popular treatments – so to treat yourself or someone else to one these classic treatments is a recipe for success – the two combined is just pure indulgence. Go on, indulge!
